The Problem

My skin was not adapting to summer weather well at all and I had to do a major regimen overhaul. This is what my current skincare regimen looks like right now and I am super happy with it. As you can see in my summer skincare tips post, I did things like swapping oils for gels, and changed up my actives. I noticed a huge difference in a matter of days! Note: Hormones also played a role.

The AM

(1) Cleanser: Basq NYC Anti-Blemish Daily Cleanser ($18)

I am loving this gel cleanser so much! I was experiencing some oiliness and atypical breakouts and shininess in my T-zone, especially on my forehead. This has been a life-saver. It uses natural astringents — like oak root extract and tea tree oil — to make a serious difference in sebum production, and is safe for use during pregnancy.

(2) Acid Exfoliant: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads ($30)

While I am a big fan of pre-soaked pads and the exfoliating acids, a liquid version I might reach for is Paulas Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid ($29) — only $27.55 at that link. This is a cult-favorite product that is great for shrinking pores, brightening, preventing breakouts, etc. Use with cotton rounds.

(3) Toner: Herbivore Jasmine Green Tea Balancing Toner ($39)

Antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients make this fab for when I am dealing with breakouts. Sometimes I reach for Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner ($32) instead, which is another antioxidant powerhouse that also improves skin elasticity over time. It is another luxury green beauty product with a cult-following.

(4) Essence: LJH Tea Tree 90 Essence ($45) — but only $23 at that link.

I am on a major tea tree oil bender right now! I keep wanting to switch up essences, but keep gravitating back to this one. It is dermatologist developed to target breakouts and sebum production.

(5) Serum: Paula s Choice C15 Super Booster ($40) — $46 at that link

For daytime, antioxidants are key and vitamin C is one of my favorites for pairing with sunscreen. I love the ingredients in this protective C-serum by Paulas Choice; the ferulic acid in particular can help with retexturizing uneven skin.

The other great thing about this serum is that you can add it or use it alone. Today, for example, I combined its antioxidant protection with another of my favorite serums, Verso Skincare Antioxidant Turmeric Booster ($95). This is an anti-inflammatory and redness-fighting superstar!

(6) Moisturizer: Knours Skin Meditation Gel Cream ($36)

The second this hypoallergenic cream touches your skin, it feels more peaceful. I honestly have not even scoured the ingredients to find out how or why, but I read about the extensive and collaborative research taht went into the line and I am hooked on this product.

Tip: Pop it in the fridge before application to give your skin some extra-soothing TLC.

(7) Eye Cream: Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes ($55) — $52 at that link

This is a green beauty line that was developed by a dermatologist, so I am obsessed. I had been dying to try this dark circle-fighting eye cream for a while and the rep thankfully sent it over. So far I am loving it!

The PM

(1) Face Wipe: Skyn Iceland Glacial Cleansing Cloths ($15)

I am in love with these cleansing,  no-rinse wipes. They are infused with actual glacier water and leave your face feeling so, so soft. Whenever I think I might take a nap, I grab one of these and wake up with silky skin. I LOVE this cruelty-free, non-toxic line so much!

(2) Makeup Remover: Girl Undiscovered Under the Waterfall Crystal Cleansing Water ($42)

I always end up needing extra makeup remover for my mascara/eye area. I usually grab Simple Micellar Cleansing Water ($6) or Georgette Klinger 3X Makeup Remover ($10), but I am trying to remember to incorpor

ate this luxury micellar water as a step into my regimen. I have been really into crystals lately and it is crystal-infused. Also, the Georgette Klinger (link) product is Hillary Clintons favorite.

(3) Cleanser: Basq NYC Anti-Blemish Daily Cleanser (see above)

(4) Exfoliant: First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads (see above)

(5) Toner: Herbivore or Indie Lee (see above)

(6) Essence: LJH (see above)

(7) Serum: InstaNatural Age-Defying and Skin Clearing Serum ($21)

I am so obsessed with this green beauty serum. First of all, the unique blend of active ingredients — containing vitamin C, retinol, niacinamide (pore-shrinking!), and tea tree oil — are a dream. Beauty blogger Lauren Erro first clued me into the line. She told me how it is one of Amazons top-rated brands with thousands of genuinely positive reviews — and this product has lived up to the hype around the line.

Their rep sent me this serum when I was in dire need and it made a difference so quickly. My skin was in the worst state it had been in in months, but using this in conjunction with other balancing products cleared away clogs and closed comedones in mere days. It is also one of the most economical beauty products I have ever fallen in total love with, which I am pretty happy about.

(9) Eye Cream: Goldfaden MD (see above)

Comments

I am really loving this lineup right now. I made a number of tweaks until I found an interlocking regimen that suited the combination oiliness and clogged pores I was experiencing. I have also noticed that switching over to powder products has helped me stay matte throughout the day. I genuinely think that every product in this lineup is special for some reason, but I am so blown away by the InstaNatural serum. I cannot wait to try more of their line.
