While researching for a Brit + Co. article on celebrity skin gurus and scoring the exclusive skincare tips they had to share, I discovered beauty's ultimate green goddess: Dayle Breault-Hagag.
Known fondly as the Goddess of Skin, or just plain "Goddess" for short, the celebrity aesthetician and green skincare line founder stands out for having one of the most beautiful client lineups of all time. Among them? Zoe Kravitz, Suki Waterhouse, and Cara Delevingne, to name a few. (In fact, she's the go-to for the entire Kravitz family — Lenny and Lisa Bonet included — and has known Zoe since she was fourteen.)

In addition to being Hollywood's Cool Girl-preferred esthetician, she's filled with a wealth of knowledge that she uses to inform her holistic skincare practice and to create her luxury green skincare. Cara herself has been quoted crediting the products with saving her skin, stating: "Everyone needs to know about your products. They healed my skin."
Dayle's most popular item is her best-selling Dayle Breault Goddess of Skin Truthful Serum ($131), which her devoted clients call their skin's food.
I got a chance to speak with the Goddess about Candida, a nefarious fungus-relative in our guts that wreaks absolute havoc on our health and faces. She explained to me how delicate the human biome is and the importance of keeping our gut health in check; the slightest imbalance can cause Candida to run amok, causing bodily inflammation that — surprise! — shows up on our skin.
Dayle recounted noticing a certain type of skin rash that kept appearing on her LA-based clients — especially the ones whose diets included disproportionately high amounts of citrusy fruits. (Juice cleanse, much?) And yes, Cara was among them.

In fact, she even told me a story about Ms. Delevingne, who she notes is notoriously hard to pin down these days, globe-trotting movie star that she is. But Dayle did share the exact recipe for a DIY facemask the star used to heal her face from afar.
During a face-saving (literally) Skype-session, the Goddess of Skin shared this skin-curing recipe with the model and actress:
1.) First, create a base using some non-flavored yogurt. (Organic, obviously.)
2.) Then, open a probiotic capsule and empty the capsule into the yogurt.
3.) Add a drop or two of essential oil like Lavender or Tea Tree Oil
4.) Blend and apply.
Voila! This simple-to-make mask can heal a wide range of skincare woes and is easy to make from home. While yogurt contains skin-boosting lactic acid, the key ingredient here is the probiotic capsule's contents. Emptying the gut-restoring flora into your at-home mask will serve as a fast-acting skin-healer against all kinds of unflattering skincare woes. If you don't already, head to your local green grocer to score yourself a refrigerated blend.
If it's good enough for Cara, Suki, and Zoe, then it's good enough for me.
